Power System — The Fundamental Divide
SCW-30 — 120 W / 12V DC
Runs directly from a 12V or 24V battery bank — no generator, no shore power needed. At just 120 W, it can be sustained by solar panels or a wind generator during extended anchorages. Battery draw over three hours is roughly 24–30 Ah on a 12V system.
The natural choice for off-grid sailing where preserving battery capacity matters as much as making water.
SCW-100 — 1.35 kW / 230V AC
Requires a generator or a 2000W+ inverter. Cannot be run directly from a 12V battery bank; when powered through an inverter, available battery capacity must be carefully assessed before installation.
For boats with regular generator use or marina shore power, SCW-100 delivers a full day's water supply in 1.5–3 hours of run time.
Practical rule: If your boat runs on 12V batteries only, SCW-100 is not practical — running it through an inverter drains batteries quickly. Use SCW-30 on pure 12V systems.
